About Kibbutz Ein Gedi
Established in 1953 it is located in the Judean Desert, by the shores of the Dead Sea and on the edge of the Green Separation Line. Kibbutz Ein Gedi economy is mainly based on agriculture and tourism. In 1997, the kibbutz started bottling water from the Ein Gedi spring known in the Israeli market as Ein Gedi Mineral Water.
The Botanical Garden
Kibbutz Ein Gedi Botanical Garden houses over 900 species of plants from around the world and is recognized as the only populated botanical garden in the world. Since 1994 it is registered with the Botanic Gardens Conservation International and is acknowledged by the National Geographic Society as "the 11th wonder of the world"
