A day rich with history & nature. An interfaith tour, leading into Israel's northern treasures. Tour departs from TLV & JLM every Sunday & Wednesday with minimum 4 participants.

About the Golan Heights
The Golan Heights form a rocky plateau of great strategic importance. Average altitude 1,000 meters (3,300 ft) and area totaling 1,800 square kilometers (690 sq mi). A popular tourist destination, the Golan has a rich history and features numerous archeological landmarks, scenic streams, mountains and waterfalls. The Golan Heights contribute significantly to the water resources of the region, providing about 15% of Israel's water supply.

Tour program

Travel from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem northbound along the coast, then head east & stop at an observation point for view of Megiddo, known as the biblical site of Armageddon. Proceed towards the Jordan Valley and stop at "Yardenit" the Baptismal site on the Jordan River. Ascend the Golan Heights to an observation point over Hammat Gader, the triangular border between Israel, Syria & Jordan. Drive to Katzrin, the Talmudic capital of the Golan, tour the ancient basalt rock built synagogue and olive press. Ascend Mount Bental, by car, for a panoramic view of Kuneitra Valley on the Syrian Border. Proceed for a short walking tour of a typical former Syrian fortification in the Golan.

Hat, water, comfortable walking shoes & snacks for the way (Nov. to Mar. warm clothes).

Remarks:

♦ Pick up from major hotels in Tel Aviv & Jerusalem.
♦ Optional pick up in TLV & drop off in JLM or v.s.
♦ Lunch is not included (Break provided to purchase lunch).
♦ For those coming from Jerusalem: Pick up & transfer to Tel Aviv, to wait in a hotel's lobby, while pick up round takes place. Thank you for your patience.
♦ Estimated return: in JLM ~19:00 pm / in TLV ~18:30 pm.
