Wednesday / DAY 1

Our hike begins near Kibbutz Kfar Giladi*– by the statue of the “Roaring Lion**”. Most our hike for the day will follow the “Cross Israel Trek”. After a short walk from our starting point we’ll reach the “Statues Trail” an international project of various stone & metal art works in the forest. The path will lead us to “Ein Roim” a picturesque site with a fresh water spring & 2 small “pools”. On To “Ramim Mountain Range” for a fantastic view & some interesting geological insights. Continue south to “Kadesh Stream Nature Reserve” in running stream & canyon will be the highlight of the day. A short climb will lead us to “Lipha Obseravtion” – where the Hulla Valley is spread at our feet. This is a great location to hear the story of Jewish settlers that came to the Galilee at the beginning of the 20th century. Our hike will end near Moshav Ramot Nafatli at the Yesha Fort also known today as the “fort of the 28” commemorating 28 soldiers that died here during the war of independence. Visit the tomb known as “Nebi Yosha” who some believe is the burial site of the biblical Joshua Ben Nun. Depending on hour of the day, we’ll proceed either walking or by car for our overnight in Moshav Ramot Naftali. 

Thursday / DAY 2 
A short walk from Moshav Ramot Naftali we will reach a small observatory point from which a steep climb will lead us to “Keren Nafatli” . At the summit we will see a fascinating combination of past & present: on one hand an IDF post & on the other hand remains of a Roman building with its mosaic floors. After catching our breath, we will proceed “up & down” some hills till we reach the “Dishon River” with its diverse vegetation & running water (mostly during the winter & spring). The trail will lead us through some Mediterranean bush till we cross Alma Bridge. From this point vegetation is less dense, we’ll keep walking west & along the river till the Dishon Cave. AT the cave we will summarize our Galilee hike, then walk another kilometer to meet with the car that will take us to Tzefat (Safed) where our hike ends. (The last lag from Dishon to Tzefat is by car)

Friday / DAY 3
Optional (at extra cost) Hike to Mount Meron or guided tour in Tzefat.

Bring along   Comfortable hiking boots, hat, personal water bottle, towel, sunscreen lotion, flashlight, personal medication.

♦ Due to limited space in the jeeps, one overnight bag per person  ♦ Walk requires minimal hiking skills, yet it is not recommended for pregnant women or people with back or neck issues.
